A Successful Case Study

The Project:
 Multi-function closure for consumer products
The Challenge:
 Produce a closure device for multi-function and multiple product use applications. The clients idea required development and design of a specialty closure which could be used with industry standard containers. Pricing for the closure would need to be competitive with existing closure systems.
The Solution:
 Drawing on knowledge gained from other closure projects, the Prestige team determined a basic structure for the product. A product mock-up was used to mimic function of the closure and allowed for production cost estimates, which fell within the clients price point. Research was completed to determine design inputs and then correlated into a development plan consisting of design, risk analysis, material selection/compounding, and validation/verification procedures.

Working together with the client, a prototype tooling system and accompanying testing protocol was used to verify specifications and validate that the closure would serve the intended purpose. Product materials were selected for approval for use with the varying media to be sealed by the closure system.
The Result:
 The teamwork and synergy between the client and Prestige Mold allowed the client to enter and have great success in a very competitive market.
